Jul 11 07 11:56 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Sam Adams all the way for me, except the really fruity ones like Cranberry Lambic - if I want fruit taste with my beer, I'll eat a fruit salad while drinking, thanks. As far as mass-produced brews, Miller and Michelob, in any variety. Bottom-of-the-barrel: Corona, just a bit worse than Budweiser.

Jul 11 07 6:54 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I don't drink much anymore (not at all lately!), so when I did/will, I prefer a tasty ale or darker beer. Since I'm only drinking a few, body and substance are preferable as well. My favorites to date are: Anything from Anchor Brewery, especially the porter and Liberty Ale. Anything from Samuel Smith's, although they tend to be quite pricey. Guinness - I have never had a bad one, whether from tap or bottle or can. Pilsner Urquell - I hear it's much better on tap or in it's native land, but I love the bottled imports. Orval Trappist Ale - not easy to find, but well worth the trouble. Very complex ale but still a great taste. Sam Adams - Very satisfying and available at the supermarket! Can't say that for any of the above besides Guinness. And, not trying to offend or be an elitist, but I cannot stand most, if not all of the domestic beers. You can keep your Bud, Miller, Pabst, Coors, Corona, etc. Unless you're drinking solely to get drunk, I don't understand why people drink these.

Jul 11 07 11:33 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	For general summertime drinking, you can't beat Yuengling Lager. Cooper's Sparkling Ale is also very good, as well as a good Schneiderweisse, or any other Bavarian hefeweizen. I also like to make my own. Anybody else here a home brewer?

Jul 12 07 1:02 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	In truth I'm a Miller Genuine Draft man, and I live in the city of beer (Milwaukee), so every conceivable micro-brew is at my finger tips. From the tap I like a good Wiess-beer. I used to drink the darks, but I've just lost my taste for the soy-sauce and coffee-grounds run through a skunk brews. Least favorite, any Lite beer, Coors, Bud and stuff that tastes like honey, pumpkin pie, or berries. My dads an absolute beer freak, you need to drink just to listen to him talk about it.

Every Wednesday night was dollar beer night at the Pastrami and Things pub on the ground floor of the building. The dollar beer was Bud on draft, but when in Manhattan, that was a real deal. We'd shut PnT down on Wednesdays and end up at the Pig and Whistle near Rockefeller center, and I'd start drinking Bass Ale. I'll never drink Bud again. Kezilla

Good and strong and not too fizzy. Least favourite? Well, if it's free I'll probably drink it (being Irish and all) but I suppose it would have to be the Budweiser we get here in Ireland - tastes, looks and has about the same alcoholic content as wee wee. Victoria Bitter, Red Hook ESB, Sprecher Black Bavarian, and San Miguel when served in a bar in Olongapo. Most major domestics, ie Bud, Miller, etc I avoid, but easily the worst beer I ever tasted is Grain Belt. During my college years when we had to contribute to the party(BYOB), I would bring a 12 pack of Grain Belt and throw it in the fridge, at the end of the evening it would still be there, ready for next week's duty. Today is only Yesterday's Tomorrow

I liked that, and Strohs from my native Michigan. I became an alky, drank myself into diabetes, and quit cold turkey. Or TORkey. Speaking of - - - Harry Thomas used to tell me how much beer The Real Tor would drink, namely a case and 1/2 in one night! When his wife would occasionally throw him out of the house, he stayed at the St Moritz Motel, across from the former Warner Bros studio at Sunset and Bronson (now KTLA ch 5).

Jul 13 07 11:55 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We just discovered Belhaven Scottish Ale which is very tasty. Otherwise, I like a good Smithwick's or Stella Artois. I used to drink a lot of PBR and I still like Mickey's Malt Liquor. There isn't any beer I actively dislike other than the very heavy, dark stuff like wheat beer, barley wine and the like. I do enjoy Guinness, but can't go much stronger than that. I don't find Miller or Bud very appealing, but will certainly drink one if the situation calls for it.
