Hostile intelligent extraterrestrial plant-life with 'rose thorns'.

November 3rd?! Holy crap!
Projecting the events backward, that means the Thing crashed on.... October 31. HALLOWEEN!
(No wonder it was up to no good!)

Watched it again last night, and noticed one odd line of Dialoge.... When Ned Scott and Captain Pat Hendry are talking at the crash site, and Ned's trying to convince Pat to let him radio in a story, he turns to him at one point, and says, "Listen, Chapman..."I can't figure it out... why would Ned Scott call Capt. Hendry "Chapman?" Especially since Dr. Chapman has been nothing but helpful and informative up to this point?
Another strange dialogue quirk. At the end of Pat and Scotty's little banter during the same scene as above (in fact, pretty much the next line), he says "Even the Russians wouldn't think like that". For whatever reason, that line looks like it was dubbed in later. It doesnt seem to match his movements or his mannerisms at all.
