I chose NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968) which I haven't seen in a while. I have to tell you that I never enjoyed the movie as much as I did this night. I don't know whether it's this particular film itself or that 12:00 AM is a magical time for such horror movies all around. I was actually scared by NOTLD -- and it held up powerfully even though I'd seen it many times before. It was as if the whole world was quiet and I was the only guy still up. In fact, when the movie itself ended around 1:30 AM, I was friggin' SCARED TO GO TO BED! Horror movies NEVER affect me like this.. but it happened this time! I was hoping I wouldn't have nightmares.
So -- now I've got this wild idea to try and designate a horror film for 12 midnight on EVERY Saturday night! Anyone else ever experience this? I'd like to hear about it.
