I've got an 8mm print of METROPOLIS from Enterainment Films. I wonder which version it is? It conforms to the description of the Pollock cut.

To tell the truth I don't usually listen to music on silent films at home. It distracts me. But the BBC version is not music really but noises. The Griggs-Moviedrome version has Japanese subtitles on top of the English titles. The ...

Oderman's scores can be excellent. I kept my old Griggs copy of the '20 J & H just for that. And I also had the pleasure of seeing him play live for some Thanhouser shorts in that studio's home, New Rochelle.

Actually I got two versions of Metropolis last week. The Australian version in color & a Japanese DVD which is actually a Griggs-Moviedrome print with piano tinkling by Stuart Oderman 95 min. When I grow up I'll have an avatar.
