Tom, thanks so very much for posting that interview. Excellent material. Meriwether

comes across as both a solid craftsperson and a very nice lady. I guess the reasons

behind Lansing's failure to achieve big screen stardom will remain frustratingly vague.

I have fond but hazy memories of his role in the 87th Precinct series in 1961, and

though he appeared fairly regularly on TV, I always wondered why I never saw him

in bigger budget...

4D MAN director Yeaworth said that there was just some hard-to-define SOMEthing about Robert Lansing that made him a character actor rather than a leading man.

Reed, I meant no insult; as I said, he's a terrif actor. But Looks Count in the biz, and his can be vaguely... threatening?

Especially for leading men, this was very much the case back then. A bit less so as years passed, but hey - look at Chris Walken's typing, which I've heard him remark about.

Is that the main reason he never hit it big in theatrical movies? Gotta be something more than that.
His brow never kept him off the TV screen. His few films between TV gigs -- if imdb is to be
believed -- include Under the Yum Yum Tree, Namu the Killer Whale, and toward the end
that whole slug of minor genre stuff -- Empire of the Ants, Scalpel,...

GREAT little flick (though I'm hesitant to laud the producers TOO much, after how they screwed Kay Linaker...)

Good proof example for the "less fx is more" ideal.

Just watched this or the first time. I bought this on vhs probably 10 years ago, and somehow forgot about it until today. Great flick! I think the effects are very good, considering the time the film was made. In many respects the effects were better than many films even 20 years later. I thought it was very believably acted, especially by the two...
