Killers From Space (1954) features a sequence where Peter Graves encounters a number of giant insects in a network of caves. Monster on the Campus (1958) has a very large dragonfly, a giant compared to its ordinary size..

The little girl's panic scene is also quite effective. Her terror really helps to build up suspence and make you wonder what terrifying thing is out there.
