I hardly know what to say. He made such a positive impact upon my life and chosen career that it can hardly be exaggerated. I'm honored to have met him. Grateful for the long adventurous life he lived. It is somehow fitting that he died on my own father's 84th birthday.

The world has lost a noble human being and a remarkable man.

Well, he's in a better place now. I like to think at this very moment he's hanging out the the Chaney's, Bela, Boris, Basil, and Vinnie just catching up and reminiscing.

After not reading any new updates health-wise I falsely thought "no news is good news". I should have known better.

A couple of times this discussion has veered into unexpected directions.

Which is fine, usually, but a reminder that this Forrest J Ackerman thread is intended as one long memory card, to be read and shared by Forry, his friends and a lifetime of fans. We hope to archive it here forever when and IF the time comes, and want to keep it free of sharp turns. So we've gone in and deleted or moved numerous recent posts.

Saturday evening I dropped off the DVD of 4E's birthday bash which I shot for him. He was sleeping, but his caretakers assure me that he is doing better - his vital signs are all good. He just suffers from a bit of back pain from being bed-ridden so long. They try to get him up to walk around when they can to keep atrophy from settling in.

I sure hope he gets better and better every day, but mostly I hope for him exactly what he wants.

Okay, back on topic. In the Horror Comics and Art file there is a thread that our fearless leader, Frank Dietz, started called The Monster Art Challenge. The November Challenge was to do a portrait of FJA as a get well greeting.
