Terry, as always it was great seeing you again, however, we did miss seeing your lovely wife and adorable monsters (I mean kids). We're so use to seeing them with you it felt strange that they weren't there. At least we got to see them at Wonderfest in May. I wish we could have had more time to talk, but as always the weekend flys by so quickly that it's over before you know it. We're already counting down to next year's Bash and we may opt to go to Monsterplooza next year...

I had a grand time reuniting with so many great friends at the Bash this year, even though I really missed having Anita and the kids along for the ride. I drove this year instead of flying, and the ten-hour trek from Muscle Shoals to Butler was well worth the time and effort. The classic radio channel on satellite radio really helped pass the time, particularly the Peter Lorre Suspense marathon, plus Paul Frees in a special birthday-tribute collection of vintage Green Llama...

Greg, MANY people said they were sorry that you weren't there. And I was one of 'em!

As a friend of the late Linda Miller, you would have enjoyed seeing a display there of her art that I (and Raymond Castile) helped produce. One really nice moment was when Ron Chaney admired her portrait of Ron's great-grandfather:

Sorry to have missed Monster Bash - I was set to attend and give a talk Friday afternoon about my revised Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff book, but various commitments got in the way and I had to advise Ron Adams, regretfully, that I couldn't make it. Tom Weaver tells me it was a great time and congratulations to Ron and staff for having organized another terrific Bash. Seriously, there IS a surgery-on-the-Monster scene later in the picture (isn't there?) so I ass-u-me that's what's happening. I'd have to see it again. Funny to think of Frank Reicher's brain being in the Monster in HOUSE OF DRAC and A&CMF.

We had a great time. We commuted Friday and Saturday. I had lots of fun "opening for a movie premiere," but unfortunately needed to wait for the home release to view it because my wife and daughter were waiting for me on the lawn and it was Daughter Katelyn's first time watching A&C ever. (She told me, "I like the monsters, but only when they are being funny and not when they're scary." It's fun to see glimpses of the world through a 4 year old's eyes!)...

The Frankenstein quiz came to a fun and surprising conclusion when a 15-year-old kid turned out to be the winner -- he got about twice as many correct answers as all the longtime dues-paying graybeards who competed (about 15 of them).
