There's a clip of this episode on the Warner Brothers documentary The Adventures Of Errol Flynn. Wish I could see the whole thing. It looks good.

ERROL FLYNN THEATRE was shot at Bray Studios during down-time. I think the usual tech crew worked on it, and Terry Fisher directed a couple of them. One of the episodes features Flynn as a rogue, along with his then-wife and his son Sean...the only time they all appeared together.

And according to Pop Up Video, a video by West Coat group the Headpinds , Dont it make you feel like dancing, was shot in a Vancouver Restaurant that was once the morque where Errol Flynn was taken after his fatal heart attack,
and theres a notice posted saying table reserved for Mr Flynn.
You have to really look as its there quickly and gone.

I remember many years ago, seeing a show called Errol Flynn presents which if my memory serves was in the mystery/drama vein. This used to run on our local station Channel 11 and Errol Flynn was the host and acted in some episodes.
Has anyone else seen this, as I fecall some of the episodes were not bad at all , if a bit on the low budget side.

Ta for above. The connection of "My Favourite Year" was in my initial pitch to Mr Kenis (Peter O'Toole's agent). The Swann/Duffy character is a Flynn/Barrymore hybrid - it's also my favourite film (Nat King Cole on the soundtrack as well) that can make me produce a teardrop or two (men are allowed to cry you know):

Swann: " I'm afraid. I'm afraid. That's why I couldn't get out of the car to see my Tess, my child."

I dunno. This focus on Peter O'Toole touring the world takes the focus off Flynn. This would be the problem if you had Clooney doing it, or Johnny Depp, or whomever-- and would be extraordinarily expensive to shoot. A doc' on O'Toole, OK; on Flynn, sure. But this hybrid doesn't sound like it would appeal to fans of either. O'Toole himself is a star of the long-past, to most people nowadays. Flynn might as well be George Bancroft for all the name recognition he has to those...

Ahhh, but what a great book regardless. I have a nice hardcover edition.

And, Bill, in all fairness I will concede that Higham's book was probably, in the end, more truthful than Flynn's own biography, My Wicked, Wicked, Ways.

Christopher Lee has some interesting stories to tell about Flynn, with whom he crossed swords in a movie and ended up with a permanently bent finger because of it.

Fountainbridge, I'm on your side, and Errol Flynn's side. In fact, when I was living in Glendale I would regularly go to Forest Lawn and take flowers for Lon Chaney. I would always take one out and leave it on Flynn's grave.

Guys - there is no mention of Errol Flynn being a Nazi in the synopsis. "A Fascist sympathizer for a while before WWII" - refers to a time when Flynn was in England during the period of Oswald Mosley. Perhaps sympathiser was too strong a word and I am sorry it "came across" in stronger terms- but guys this is a synopsis - it wasn't/isn't an assassination piece - it's a synopsis.

It's a tad sad that the guys that have got all defensive have written...

Bill, with all due respect, you are a writer and a good one and I don't think you would do what Charles Higham did with his Errol Flynn biography. He went as far as to say that Flynn was, in effect, a Nazi sympathizer or agent who would insist on using actual military equipment and ships in his films in order to show the enemy what America had. That's a pretty strong allegation for a writer to make, especially when the subject of the allegation had been dead for three decades and...

Higham's book wasn't a hack job, but he was way off base regarding Flynn. He just wanted to have something sensationalistic about Flynn--an expose--so his book would get some notice. Flynn didn't give a damn about politics, didn't really wonder about the background of people he hung out with. He may have palled around with Nazis--but he was pretty much a palling-around kind of guy. If you were charming, liked to drink and loved women, you were...

The Nazi stuff comes from he hack job that Charles Higham did on Flynn back in the 80's. I don't think any of it was ever substantiated.

Excuse me! Where does this come from?
Quite a few spurious claims contained in the original post. Much of this sounds like some of the unfounded BS that appeared in a hack biography a few years back. Sorry, but I don't like the sound of this one bit.

Anyway, I approached the production company that I freelance with - they said they would pitch/develop my documentary on Errol - if and it was a big IF - if I could get a name attached to the project - well I approached Steve Kenis, Peter O'Toole's agent - but Mr O'Toole...
