being creeped out by the music. But I still watched.

the episodes years later, I found that while it was inconsistent, it was at the same time amazingly creative and frequently brilliant.  There is a dark and
malevolent mood to this series at its best that none of the earlier or later anthologies match, in my opinion. Because it did come in the early 70s when

			<description><![CDATA[ Thanks, Opticalguy. I&#39;ve seen the episodes you mentioned, and they are among the best. The gimmicky John Carradine shortie, <strong>Big Surprise</strong>,
is nicely done. An uncharacteristically heartwarming one, <strong>The Messiah On Mott Street</strong>, featuring one of Edward G. Robinson&#39;s last
performances, is also very good, closer in spirit to <strong>The Twilight Zone</strong> (can&#39;t imagine why) than <strong>NG</strong>. The show did
Lovecraft well, maybe the best... ]]></description>

in the Wales of like five hundred or more years ago, all fog and gnarled trees, in which Richard Thomas goes a-gatherin&#39; for his father&#39;s funeral.
Excellent all-round; Alan Napier appears uncredited. Thomas, not my favorite actor, is perfect for this one, as he and the episode truly deliver the goods in
the end. Truly chilling... ]]></description>
