I guess that there won't be another ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS set this Halloween. Seems to me that volumes 1-3 were released around the previous 3 Halloweens. At this rate, we'll never get to see THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR on DVD, because there are about 5 remaining years of the half-hour episodes yet to go.

I'm adding this to this thread, it may be on another thread but I wanted to be sure it was known. Night Gallery Season 2 is scheduled for release on November 18, 2008. I preordered it for $39.96 from DeepDiscount. I also ordered the first season which arrived about a week ago.

Not me because most of old films have nothing in common with recent crappy films you would just be forcing people to pay extra for an unwanted title whether it be the newer or older film because you know they are not going to put two films...

Sure, if those titles were the ONLY ones they released. But releasing them sporadically in between all their big "bread and butter titles" won't hurt them one bit.

The still-MIA, pre-1970 Universal genre titles I really want are:

ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1933)
MURDER, HE SAYS (1945, great "spooky" Fred MacMurray comedy, which got a VHS release)
TERROR ABOARD (1933)
COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT (1969, anamorphic widescreen reissue --and yes, I know such a disc is coming to R2 soon, but I want a properly-done R1 edition just the same)

Well to me good or bad they are "classics" rather watch a bad movie from the 1940's or 1950's than the latest shot on video crap from the next wannabe Rob Zombie and most of what the big studios pop out these days aren't worth my time.

Oh, I agree. It's just that the rest of the titles on that list are certainly second or third tier.

Of course, if they were released, I'd grab them in a heartbeat!

That's true enough, but if I had to limit my collection to bona fied classics it would shrink by two-thirds.
