I know I posted the painting here sometime this summer but I can't remember where on the board, so screw it, I just took another shot of it on the wall and hurry-upped it onto this Challenge....'cause it's got an ape in it (not to say anything of Actress Judy Reyes' ass. FUN WITH PHOTOSHOP!

This was a photoshop experiment I did about 2 years ago........

I found this cute shot of a gorilla in a cage on Google...I believe he was holding a banana ...and I rotoscoped him, painted a rounder top of the head on him using digital paints and digital brushes...then I superimposed him into a high shot of Manhattan, but I had to paint the upper part of the distant burrows to...

Jethro, I love your little ape guy from 2001...amazing detail in something so small, but that is business as usual for you....oh, the Abominable Snowman head was a mask I made in my workshop that fit over my head and was velcroe'd in the back so that it fit me snuggly....the teeth are plastic teeth from a "jungle" necklace I bought at the Hollywood Toy and Costume store which I cut to shape and glued firmly into the back of the upper lip. I saw 2001: A SPACE ODDYSEY eight times in a theater. Three times during it's initial run (at two different Cinerama theaters) and five more times at three separate local theaters after the initial run. And I swear to you all--I was not doing drugs!

ZD! MAN OH MAN! You've got Laughton perfectly! Island of Lost Souls is one killer of a movie. A fave of mine but I have to be in the mood for it for some reason. I can't just throw it in like so many others. Your work from Captive Cave Woman is perfect as well.

Woody Your story of your Dad and the Silverback and Captive Cave Woman almost made me snort coffee through my nose!!!! An awesome moody portrait sir. I really love your work in the black and white tones!

Speaking of splits (Woody Welch, Master of Segues) I loved gorillas because of King Kong, his son, and Mighty Joe Young, so I loved going to the Bronx zoo and watching (and smelling) them. I always thought it was odd that real apes didn't resemble the ones in the movies (or vice versa). Once, me and my dad saw a really enraged silverback take a colossal dump and throw the fresh steaming turds at a rival.

Later that saturday we watched Captive Wild Woman, the first Paula Dupree...

Thanks, and Goss, the director WAS a creative person...I had worked with him on an ice cream bar commercial where a young couple comes home and finds their upscale apartmentt has been robbed...but when they open the freezer door and find their stash of ice cream bars are still there, they smile and breathe a sigh of relief. The last shot was of them sitting on a parquet floor...their entire apartment empty...and they were happily eating these ice cream bars. I did the storyboards and the spot...

That is too bad about the commercial Woody.Sounds like one I would have totally loved but really this guy didn't sound like a creative person if the only thing he could say is something like "Isn't big foot a big hairy guy." I see lots of them walking around but I don't think they are Big Feet People LOL.
A real shame that the mask fell apart. I guess the life cycle of a yeti isn't long. No wonder they are extinct. Or are they?

Okay, here's how it goes. First of all, this is NOT a competition. It is a fun way to share our artwork and challenge our individual skills. Once a month (or so, depending on how this goes) a classic horror character or actor will be named as the "Subject Of The Month." Since I started this, I'll name the first subject, and then take suggestions for the following months.

The drawing can be old or new, but it would be much more fun if they were all...
