I was watching THE BIG BANG THEORY tonight on CBS and was surprised when one of the characters won a eBay auction for what was supposedly a model of the time
machine used in the movie, THE TIME MACHINE. I was expecting to see a prop from the recent remake (ugh!), but they remained true to their geek roots and
wheeled in the full sized machine from the classic film. I'm surprised Bob Burns let it out of his museum. There were also some fun appearances by 3
Morlocks. Did anyone else see this?

It is not Bob's Time Machine. For several years now, there has been a Henry Alvarez-sculpted Rod Taylor sitting in that machine, so it takes an awful lot
to disassemble that bad boy. The one on that show is more likely either Greg Nicotero's or another collector's replica. Greg's is almost identical
to Bob's original, except maybe a little smaller - and it works too (that is, it lights up and and the disk spins, it doesn't actually travel through
time!).

I saw it as well. Did not make the connection with Bob Burns, though, till I saw the postings.

That's a fun show. Clever and intelligently written, a rare treat on TV these days. It'll surely be canceled!

I think Bob has an instinct about who he can and cannot trust to be near his museum pieces. I was a nervous wreck at a convention when he handed me the only
surviving Jack Pierce Mummy mask. It was like I was holding The Holy Grail or Excalibur! It was amazing. And, when I visited him I actually touched Buster
Crabbe's Flash Gordon costume and the Tom Tyler Captain Marvel costume that's seen in my avatar. I don't believe he would allow everyone that type
of proximity to those...

I saw it and loved it. There is also an entry in the TV folder on this subject. I don't think the prop in the show was Bob Burns original. Looks the
same but this one looked brand new. Plus they took it apart on the show to get it up the stairs. I think Bob Burns would have been on the edge of his seat
praying that his prized posession would not suffer any damage as it was being pushed up a flight of stairs. Still, great to see it in a mainstream TV show.

I've only seen the show a couple of times and thought it was a hoot, but I didn't see it this evening---drat!

But, if anybody runs into Bob Burns could you ask him if he could give me a lift back to 1964?
