I want to thank the Rondo Awards for nominating RUE MORGUE RADIO this year.

Yeah, we didn't win - but it was still an honour to get nominated and to come in second. (Plus we had a lot of fun with our on-air campaign to get votes.)

Of course, it was all worth it in the end as we threatened to punish our listeners brutally if they failed to vote for us! (Which we did on last week's show to traumatising effect.)

Anyway, congrats to Cult Radio a Go Go. I...

I've been away the last week (Cinefest in Syracuse), and for the first time, I missed all the "live" Rondo Announcement fun (and even the first coupla days of feedback). Sir David, thanks again for all you do; and to all the winners (and honorable mentions, and and and), congratulations!!

The FOX box was a nominee and did pretty well, even though it didn't make the final list.

Monsters from the Vault is always up there among the leaders in many categories, and has won two Rondos so far, and like the other bests in the field deserved many more. We agree it's a class act from cover to final page, issue after issue.

Seems strange that the FOX HORROR CLASSICS collection wasn`t even mentioned in the best classic horror dvd collection category? At least Fox went that extra mile with commentaries,featurettes etc. while the Universal collection was pretty basic.
Also would like to have seen MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT win the award for best magazine.Jim doesn`t have the same financial backing that a pro mag like RUE MORGUE has but he constantly produces the best looking and best researched classic horror...

It's great that newer/younger fans are getting exposed to, and involved with, this sort of thing. In a sense, we're watching the evolution of fandom. Think back to when many of us here were kids. A lot of us first stumbled across some of those silent horror classics while looking at monster magazines as fans of Universal/Hammer/AIP horrors. Had it not been for that, we might have never even heard of a lot of those earlier efforts. I'd like to think some of the remakes might...
