I would imagine the rights to THE MAN WHO COULD CHEAT DEATH still reside with Paramount. Which probably means zero chance of it getting a dvd release!!!!!!!

I'd love to see The Man Who Could Cheat Death, but I don't know who owns it. Taped it once, but got the time wrong and only actually got the last 1/2 hour, which I didn't want to watch. I hear it's quite good.

I dropped in to ask about the films on the box set (as I haven't seen any of the proposed titles). I'm afraid horror is my "thing." Just how good are these pictures? I can understand a Hammer obsessive wanting them, but how about we mortals?

Got to say, that I am excited by the mention of CORRUPTION! I still remember that head in the fridge.

This is great news, both the Hammer Adventure and Horror sets. Though I've seen all the films, sometimes the viewing conditions have been less than optimal, especially the pan/scan VHS dupe I once got of STRANGLERS from Video Search of Miami. You can bet I'll buy both sets!

Good suggestion. I think "Siege of the Saxons" would be a great bonus feature on a Hammer costume adventure set. Siege, a non-Hammer Columbia film, utilized the Hammer backlot village. It's surprising that Columbia didn't utilize Hammer's resources more often, taking advantage of their 49% (as I recall) ownership of Bray Studios.

Precode and Jameson281, how about this idea: a Historical Thrillers Box Set combining Hammer swashbucklers with other Sony costume/historical thrillers/dramas:

BLACK BOOK/REIGN OF TERROR, Mann, 1949. Apparently Sony has nice 35mm elements. Heard it thru Criterion Forum.

I've got NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT on the mega-obscure Trend VHS label. The DEVIL'S UNDEAD VHS release is a bit better transfer, but I'd much rather have it under its original title.

I love Captain Clegg (phooey on the fakey zombie movie title), the surprise hit of the Hammer Horror Series box. How do these other Hammer adventure films compare? I'll probably buy the adventure box regardless, but if the films are on a general Clegg level of quality and entertainment... it's a guarantee!

Any speculation as to what these "shorts" will be?

Yes, CASH ON DEMAND would be a great extra in a Cushing-Lee box set, along with Lee´s TV movie ONCE UPON A SPY, written by Jimmy Sangster.

But Jameson281, a Hammer thrillers set with the titles you mention plus TEN SECONDS TO HELL (Aldrich! Palance! Martine Carol!) and the 30 min. Joseph Losey movie is also a nice idea. But how would it sell?
