Speaking of MidNite Movies...anyone care to comment on those two pirate double features they released? The only one I was familiar with is Bert I. Gordon's THE BOY AND THE PIRATES.

Answered my own question. Went into my local Amoeba Music here in Los Angeles thinking I'd just take a look and see how much the Poe/Corman double features were going for. Both Masque/Premature Burial and Haunted Palace/Tower of London were marked with OOP stickers on them and price tags of $49.95 each. Sweet Christmas. Ran home and found them each for $10 in the Amazon marketplace. I imagine everyone here has them already, but if you waited like me, now's the time.

Got a question for you good folks. So the Corman Poe pictures are clearly OOP, but there's still a couple of the double feature discs you can get for cheap if you look in the right place- there's a joint a few miles away from me, in fact. I've only got Usher, Pit & the Pendulum, and Tales of Terror. My question is: Do you think these are gonna skyrocket in terms of what they go for? I'm trying to save some dough right now (got a wedding coming up) but don't wanna kick...

Put me in for one of those people who buys the same titles over and over again. I usually only do it with catalog titles, though. Including VHS, I've bought Psycho three times and I'm about to make it four with the new two-disc set. Same goes for Rear Window. I have both the Dracula Legacy Collection and the Dracula 75th Anniversary set and I'm probably going to pick up the new Mummy set for the Jack Pierce documentary.

I notice in the UK that Optinum has licencsed some MGM Midnite titles, such as The Vampire Lovers and Island Of Dr Moreau, for DVD release this Autumn.

Perhaps they could licence films MGM has masters for but no DVDs yet. I'll see if I can contact them. The UK already has most if not all of the various Hammer films on DVD that MGM has yet to release in the US
