I hate to see anything killed just for a movie. I don't even like those scenes that show roaches getting stepped on. If the roaches, or rats or whatever, are in my house, that's very different. But seeing something killed just for a movie scene makes me feel bad.

I refuse to watch or own movies that showcase actual cruelty to animals. I'd sooner watch an actual human snuff film than watch a movie showing a rat being tortured. Which is precisely why I am so upset to discover that The Rats Are Coming, The Werewolves Are Here features actual rat torture. I know I will probably sound sacreligious on here, but I absolutely refuse to watch any of Peter Jackson's LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy..too long and overblown for me. I wont watch any of the HARRY POTTER films either..too sappy for my tastes.

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. Such a title guarantees an onslaught of artificial cuteness. Which reminds me, I refuse to watch any film that promises to "steal my heart away." I'm also leery of any film that is described as a "journey of the heart."

Don't have any interest in sitting through any torture films (sat through half of one for work-related reasons before giving up in disgust).

Have no interest in the slasher genre.

Have no desire to sit through anything directed by Jess Franco or Dario Argento ever again.

I refuse to watch any film with the word "Littlest" in the title. I have a theory that it's impossible to make a good movie with that word (but "Little" is O.K.).

A couple of years ago, I first read an article about the merits of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, a movie that I'd never heard of before. It certainly sounded intriguing until I read another review that mentioned the scene where a live turtle is butchered onscreen. That's all I needed to hear and vowed that I'd happily take a pass on the film. Real cruelty to animals is where I draw the line.

Now, with a thread title like this, I'm sure...
