Looking for name of a kids' audiobook series

I've asked this before, but don't remember the answer someone suggested, and can't find the thread now. I'm looking for the name of a set of kids' audiobooks of famous stories, put out by Hanna-Barbera, whose theme was that they were read by actual Hanna-Barbera characters. It was from the late '60s or before. I remember that one was The Wizard of Oz read by Snagglepuss (!), and one was The Three Musketeers read by ? . Does anyone remember these?

Last night, listening to the commentary track on the FRANKENSTEIN 1970 DVD, I heard for the first time in my life about the visit in 1952 to the real Frankenstein castle in Germany that was broadcast on Armed Forces Radio ... and the prank that was pulled that could have resulted in a real-life heart attack. How I ever missed hearing about this before is one of my great mysteries of life!

I realized that the loss of Old Time Radio closed off an easy opportunity for many properties to expand into other media. After all, radio represents a less expensive medium to produce shows in than films or television. Also, amazing how many properties received radio shows. A staggering number of literary detectives received radio shows.

I guess now TV animation and video games might provide something of a replacement for radio, though.

Contemporary audio drama, anyone?

There is actually a lot of good stuff being made nowadays. Anyone out there listen to the Sapphire & Steel (weird sci fi /horror) or Dark Shadows audio dramas from Big Finish? Or some of the amateur productions being made out here on the web?

Yes, for the benefit of full disclosure, I do produce a show, but I'm not here just to promote. Really trying to find out if anyone out in the big, wide world is aware of us.

Newly discovered Lights Out episode!!

This episode of Lights Out 8/6/42, What the Devil, was considered lost for years, but a copy has surfaced. It is unique for a couple reasons:

1. Rod Serling commissioned Arch Oboler to write a script for the Twilight Zone. Oboler chose this story. It was never produced for TZ, sadly.
2. It bears some similarities to Steven Spielberg's first film, Duel. I believe some legal action was taken by Oboler, but later dropped.

Enjoy this, because it doesn't happen...

I'm always on the prowl for anything featuring Boris, Peter Lorre or Orson Welles, but last night I popped in a Suspense episode called "The Giant of Thermopylae" (5-3-54) and it reminded me of just how much I like listening to Frank Lovejoy. He had such a cool delivery that made you want to hear his story. Nightbeat is one of my favorite shows. It was kind of ironic that he died (10-2-62) only a few days after the final episodes of Suspense and Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar...

I picked up some shows of this very fine espionage series, starring Herbert Marshall. The scripts are well written, I believe, because they had a major FILM star at the helm. Marshall's voice just lends itself to radio.
