I saw this on a re-run of "Cinema Insomnia" the other night... from what Mr. Lobo said, it was shot over a period of years in Virginia-- the faux-dubbed dialogue was really spot-on. Somewhere under the thick layer of snarkiness that is slathered all over this movie is a sincere love-letter to K. Gordon Murray's Mexi-horror masterpieces. There were parts I liked, but it made me thirsty for the real thing, like EL PANTANO DE LAS ANIMAS or LOS LUCHADORAS CONTRA LA MOMIA.

I wound up watching this and got a lot out of it. It chronicles early 60s through early 80s, and the shift from the studio system to auteurs to Lucas and Spielberg blockbusters. At the end some actress says that she remembers the first time that Entertainment Tonight reported which film made the most money over the weekend.

Anybody here familiar with the short films coming from this production company called Fewdio? These films are all quite exceedingly disturbing in one aspect or another. I know the Norwegian Nazi Zombie flick DEAD SNOW is already out on Region 2 DVD, but does anyone know if a legit Region 1 DVD will be released anytime soon in the U.S.? Not sure if this is the right forum for this, as it's modern horror, independent and foreign, but thought it fit best here since IFC ran it a few months back. I'd like to avoid a bootleg if I can help it...
