Here's a very youthful Emi and Yumi Ito singing an arrangement of Koi no Bakansu quite unlike any recorded version I am familiar with! This arrangement, and the amount of baby fat on the girls, makes me realize Koi No Bakansu must have been an earlier hit than I realized.

According to an interview with Mike Schlesinger of Sony conducted by Ian Freidman, this has been penciled in for '09: a box set featuring dual language versions of THE H-MAN (1958), BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE, MOTHRA (1961) and REBIRTH OF MOTHRA 3 (1998). G: New Independent Kaiju Movie from Japan

Recently, video clips from a new kaiju film entitled "G" have caught the attention of Japanese monster movie fans.

The film was made by Kiyotaka Taguchi, an FX artist who has worked on the recent Godzilla movies from GMK to FINAL WARS plus BATTLE ROYALE II, SINKING OF JAPAN, and THE GRUDGE 2. Taguchi also made the monster and robot suits for G with Kakusei Fujiwara, another Godzilla series veteran whose credits include ZATOICHI and CASSHERN.

Why does the Japanese title say Three Daikaiju when there are four monsters? does Ghidorah not count as he's from space, or does the Three Daikaiju refer to his heads?

I was at BEST BUY today and noticed a double pack of DESTROY ALL MONSTERS/GAMMERA GARDIAN OF THE UNIVERSE and I notice that DESTROY ALL MONSTER has 16:9 on the back. I don't think the old Adv disk is so enhanced. Is this a new transfer? It has the original cover, but my old one doesn't say 16:9 on the back. I might go back and get it.

Forgive me if this film has been discussed elsewhere, but searches didn't turn up anything for me. I just watched SAMURAI PIRATE (aka DAI TOZOKU and THE LOST WORLD OF SINBAD), and I must admit it was a major letdown, even though I wasn't expecting much. Well, except for the music by Masaru Satoh, which I had already heard and loved. It was about 20 minutes too long, Toshiro Mifune and Mie Hama were pretty much wasted, endless, boring swordfights, and some really lame comedy. Not...

BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE, MOTHRA...do they also have REBIRTH OF MOTHRA III? (IMDB lists TriStar as the U.S. video distributor for this last film under Company Credits, but I don't recall it ever having a home video release in the States.) Since Columbia/Sony has done two Icons of Horror sets (Boris Karloff, Sam Katzman) and have an Icons of Adventure set (Hammer Films swashbucklers) on the way, it would be nice to see Toho given an Icons of Sci-Fi set.

I would love to see an epic sequel/remake of the original GOJIRA for our times. Forget about the campy "guy-in-a-rubber-suit" sequels where a heroic Godzilla takes on creatures like Dildalon the Mighty. I want another "pure" anti-war, horror film that has the same tragic tone as the original 1954 film. The movie shouldn't neccesscarily be about Godzilla, (who should be portrayed as an un-Godly, terrifying force of nature,) but rather the innocent people caught up...

Has anybody seen this Japanese weirdo film? According to the review in the Encyclopedia of Horror Movies, it's about a blind sculptur who, captures a beautiful model. Locking her in a room, she slowly goes blind, and the artist and her begin a weird tactile relationship.

It sounds like a body horror film, with elements of Boxing Helena in it.
