I was a big fan of the Battle of the Planets version of this action cartoon back in the day, and I wondered - did the 2nd in command character get killed off in the original series? I remember one episode where they were at a gravesite, and the dialogue indicated that everybody was okay, but I wondered if his character was killed off in the original Japanese version. I was walking by a booth at this year's Comic-Con that stopped me in my tracks. They were showing footage from the upcoming NEW Yamato film. As a longtime Yamato fan, I cannot wait for this.

The unstoppable Yamato flies again. It would be very cool if Desler made an appearance.

I was going through some old Anime Magazines and found these two unique Godzilla related images. The magazines were falling apart (not my fault really, I typically take very good care of my magazines) so I decided to scan in the images for preservation. A healthy debate on the greatest monster movie of all time was started in the Kong section and i wanted to see the reaction to this question by posing it in the japanese giants section. For my money, the original Gojira is the greatest monster movie of all time (non-human based). Gojira for my money is an extremely powerful film with special effects as complex as stop motion animation. What other film packs such a power message that resonates even to this day?

Just watched "War of The Gargantuas" recently. 2 scares that really freaked me out as a kid. The scene of the giant green Gargantua underwater
staring up at the fishermen really gave me nightmares. Also when he eats the woman singing "The Words Get Stuck In My Throat" and spits out her dress was also terrifying to a 5 year old.

Rodak from Space Giants was creepy and so was Dr Botanus from Giant Robot
